Massimo Brogue Derby Shoe for Men in Brown Leather

A derby with full brogue detailing in vegetable-tanned leather, hand-dyed a warm brown. The toe is a wingtip closed by a perforated medallion, and the punching follows every edge of the upper. It is the most elaborate detailing in the collection, and brown reads it better than any other ground: each perforation holds a shadow, and the pattern lifts off the surface.
The dye is applied by hand and stays uneven. Toe and heel turn towards mahogany, the middle stays warm and luminous, and no two pairs come out alike.
The lacing is open, with five pairs of eyelets: the quarters stay free to spread and the fit adjusts precisely, even over a high instep.
Underfoot, a thick lugged rubber sole stamped with the Leonardo mark, dyed to match the upper. The lining is natural leather; the construction is Blake rapid with visible perimeter stitching. With vegetable tanning the brown deepens slowly, and the perforations grow more pronounced as the leather around them takes on its patina.
