Massimo Brogue Derby Shoe for Men in Black Leather

A derby with full brogue detailing in vegetable-tanned leather, hand-dyed black. The toe is a wingtip closed by a perforated medallion; the punching then follows every edge of the upper, from the heel seam to the collar. It is the most elaborate detailing in the collection.
The lacing is open, with five pairs of eyelets: the quarters stay free to spread and the fit adjusts precisely, even over a high instep.
Underfoot, a thick lugged rubber sole stamped with the Leonardo mark, dyed to match the upper. The brogue was born on a thin city bottom; here the same detailing sits on a substantial base, and the shoe steps outside the formal register without giving up its pattern.
The lining is natural leather. The construction is Blake rapid, with visible perimeter stitching. On black, vegetable tanning changes not the colour but the depth: with wear the surface gains an uneven shine that machine-dyed leather never develops.
