Icaro Woven Leather Sneaker for Men in Dark Brown

A sneaker in vegetable-tanned leather, hand-woven. The weave covers the toe, the sides and the quarters: each strip is cut, gauged and crossed one by one over a curved last, where there is no straight line to work against.
On this shade the weave stops being decoration and becomes structure. The deep colour removes the contrast between the strips, and what remains is the relief: the shoe reads as a worked surface rather than a pattern.
The burnishing, also done by hand, gathers at the toe and along the seams, wherever the leather changes direction. Smooth leather panels at the instep, the heel and along the lacing frame the weave. Seven pairs of eyelets with flat dark brown laces.
The bottom is ultra-soft rubber in a cream shade that stands clear against the dark leather. The lining is natural leather, with a leather insole.
This is the variant that goes to the office most easily: dark enough for wool trousers, sneaker enough for the weekend.
