The heel is spool-shaped: it narrows at the centre and opens again at the base, drawing a curve you can read from across a room. Five centimetres, a height that holds the posture without asking anything in return. It is covered in the same leather as the upper, so the black runs unbroken from toe to heel.
The shaft is cut from a single piece. There are no joins pressing against the ankle, and the leather follows the foot in one continuous line: a cut that takes more material and leaves less room for error, and that is felt in the fit before it is seen.
The toe is tapered and elongated, just enough to slim the line without narrowing the forefoot.
On black, vegetable tanning works not on colour but on depth: the surface takes the light in at some points and gives it back at others, and never sits flat the way machine-dyed leather does.
Silver-tone side zip. Leather lining and insole, leather sole with a rubber insert at the forefoot.
